Axeo’s leaders are nationally recognized HR entrepreneurs with a focus on bringing a new and exciting brand of human capital management consulting and services to the market. Tom Wimer

Founder, President &
Chief Executive Officer

Tom Wimer is the founder and chief executive officer of Axeo, his third successful entrepreneurial venture. During his more than 25 years as a human resources professional, he has counseled some of the world's most respected companies, top federal government agencies and non-profit organizations on a variety of issues, including human capital management, organizational effectiveness and learning solutions.

A trusted leader shaping the future of the HR industry, Tom is the past president and CEO of KnowledgeBank, Inc., an award-winning human resources management consulting firm he founded in 2003. Tom's first business venture, Miller & Wimer, LLC, was a successful retained executive search firm that he sold in 1999. Prior to launching KnowledgeBank, Tom established and led the Human Capital Solutions practice of the Mid-Atlantic Region of Resources Connection (now Resources Global Professionals), an international professional services spin-off of Deloitte. In this role, he built a solid base of HR professionals capable of delivering a full spectrum of services, including recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, training, workforce development, and leadership and organizational development. Before that, Tom held executive HR positions at several globally recognized companies including ExxonMobil, where he was accountable for all executive, experienced professional and campus recruitment programs in the United States, while serving as a corporate liaison to international affiliates. Earlier in his career, he was a senior, corporate HR executive with The Dial Corporation and an HR and operations manager with General Electric.

Tom serves on the Board of Directors for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and has served in leadership roles for the HR Leadership Forum and other organizations focused on advancing the field of human resources management.

In 2006, Tom was named as a finalist by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington for the Human Resources Professional Excellence Award, which recognizes extraordinary leadership within the human resources profession.


Julius Rhodes, SPHR

Managing Partner,
Axeo Central

Julius brings more than 25 years of experience to Axeo as a human capital professional and thought leader. He is the author of BRAND: YOU Personal Branding for Success in Life and Business, and has earned the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), the highest level of accomplishment in human resources.

His experience includes leadership positions with well-known companies such as ExxonMobil, General Electric, Baxter Healthcare and Sara Lee Bakery, as well as the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and mpr group, a broad-based human resources consulting firm that he founded in order to provide customized training, consulting and project management services.

Julius has contributed his time to numerous philanthropic entities including the Ariel Foundation; the Local School Council for Ariel Community Academy; the community outreach committee at Jones College Preparatory High School; the Chicago Children's Museum HR Advisory Committee; and the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago and Common Threads. He has also served as a member of the Boards of Directors for the Friends of Albert C. Maule, the Illinois Institute of Technology-Center for Service, and the South Side YMCA, where he has been involved as a reader for its preschool program and as a youth sports coach. He also contributes his time as a coach for youth basketball, golf and soccer.

He has been recognized by the Minority Business Report as its Minority Business Enterprise Entrepreneur of the Week, and he has been featured in Black Enterprise magazine in its "Ask An Expert" column. He regularly instructs graduate and undergraduate level courses at several Chicago-based universities and colleges and he has led courses in human resources and project management human relations and training. Through Cornell University and the New York State Employment Relations Board, he also completed a certified arbitrator development program.

Julius received his Bachelors of Science degree in Human Resources from Roosevelt University and a Masters of Science degree from Loyola University's Institute of Human Resource and Industrial Relations. In March of 2000 he was awarded an Illinois Consortium for Educational Opportunities Program Fellowship for Ph. D. studies in Business, and he is working on his dissertation that addresses the issue of social justice and disability rights.


Terry Hindmarch

Managing Partner,

As one of the Managing Partners of Axeo and a founder of TowerHunter, Terry's 25 years of human resource and operating experience ensures Axeo's clients are provided with first-class service and outstanding results.

TowerHunter, an executive search and human capital consulting firm, serves as a strategic partner for Axeo's western region.

Terry's executive search and human capital consulting experience covers a wide variety of industries and businesses, including non-profit organizations, and publicly traded and private companies. His successful search assignments include filling key leadership positions from the executive suite to mid-management level.

Terry utilizes his business consulting expertise to assist clients across a variety of projects ranging from organization assessments, executive team assimilations, individual coaching, and succession planning.

Prior to forming TowerHunter, Terry gained considerable expertise as a national leader for a retained executive search firm specializing in health care. Terry began his recruitment career with one of the largest retained search firms in the country.

Before gaining notoriety for his recruiting expertise, Terry held HR management positions in the retail industry and seven years with General Electric (GE) in roles ranging from Labor Relations and Union Avoidance, to Organization Effectiveness, to Operating Leader of a GE Call Center. Terry was one of GE's key leaders when the company instituted a successful change process known as "Work-Out." He began his professional life in the steel industry where he held various human resources and labor relations roles.

Terry received his Master's degree in Labor & Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois and Bachelor's degree from Indiana University.


Scott Smith

Managing Partner,

Scott, a founder of TowerHunter, brings more than 25 years of human capital and executive search experience to Axeo.

TowerHunter, an executive search and human capital consulting firm, serves as a strategic partner for Axeo's western region.

Under his capable leadership, Scott has conducted high-profile searches for CEO's, Presidents, COO's, General Managers and Vice Presidents in the health care, insurance, medical devices and bio-medical industries, meeting accelerated hiring timeframes during challenging transitions. He is considered a recognized expert and leader within the industries he serves. His Lean/Six Sigma experience appeals to clients requiring searches with a continuous improvement focus.

Scott's previous experience includes over 10 years at American Express, culminating in his role as Vice President of Human Resources within the Consumer Card Group and Corporate Card organizations. Scott was also Vice President of Human Resources for Washington Inventory Service, a company with more than 14,000 employees that conducts inventories for retail establishments. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Director of Human Resources for VLSI Technology, a leading integrated circuit company.

As a founder and past president of the Arizona Human Resources Executive Forum, he leads clients through organization assessments and executive assimilation strategies.

Scott received his MBA from the University of Phoenix, and an undergraduate degree in Organization Communication from Brigham Young University.
